Rachels research explores how human needs and emerging technologies shape experiences and environments.
Drawing on design, human-computer interaction (HCI), and the natural world, her work is interdisciplinary and grounded in futures methodology.
These strands of research are evident in Rachels teaching which is active and experiential spanning visual communication, product development, UX/UI, agile methodology, design research methods and creative media. Rachel supervises major design projects that encourage experimentation, systems thinking and creative problem-solving around contemporary issues.
Through the integration of creative and technical tools including Adobe Creative Suite, Substance 3D, Figma, and Miro Rachel is committed to process and innovation consistently experimenting with new technologies and work flows. In 2024 Rachel completed her Level 7 PG Cert in Empowering Education (PGCEE) and qualified for FHEA of the Advanced HE.
