What do tuition fees cover?
Please refer to the Student Admissions Policy for details of assessment of tuition fee status.
Your tuition fees cover all of your teaching, including lectures, seminars, tutorials, technical/technician support and assessment. They also cover:
- Access to course-related facilities and equipment (e.g. laboratories, studios)
- Access to Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº's library study spaces across campus
- Support services for students
- Student union membership
- Careers advice and Employability Team support
- Alumni membership and services

Full-time students who are qualified for home fee status
Undergraduate home tuition fees are subject to the tuition fee cap set by the UK Government. The tuition fee cap is the maximum tuition fee that universities (including Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº) in England and Wales can charge UK home undergraduate students in any academic year.
For students starting in September 2026, our undergraduate tuition fees for full-time UK home students are:
- BA/BEng/BSc/MEng/MPharm degree: £9,790 per year*
- Year Zeros, Foundation Years (non Classroom-based) & Dip HEs: £9,790*
- Year Zeros, Foundation Years (Classroom-based): £5,760*
- HNDs, and Foundation Degree: £6,525*
- Placement year: £1,955 per year
- Study Abroad year (Full academic year): £1,465 per year

Part-time students who are qualified for home fee status
For 2026/27 entry, our undergraduate part-time tuition fees for UK home students tuition fees are:
- Four-year course: £7,335 per year*
- Six-year course: £4,890 per year*
- For 30 credits: £2,445 per year*
- Placement year: £1,955 per year
- Study Abroad year (Full academic year): £1,465 per year

Changes to tuition fees
At Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº, we aim to keep fees as fair as possible. Our tuition fees are reviewed on an annual basis and may change each year in order to reflect rising costs and ensure a high-quality student experience.
It’s possible that tuition fees may increase during your course. We may increase the fees within the maximum fee levels authorised by government. If any changes are made, they’re usually (but not always) linked to inflation, based on a measure called RPIX (Retail Price Index excluding mortgage interest payments) but may be based on alternative measures in the future subject to changes in government policy. Additional costs
Academic materials
The core textbooks for all modules are available in the Kimberlin Library, and journal articles in your reading lists are also mostly available electronically from your myÂé¶¹Ó°Ôº login. Students who would like to purchase their own textbooks or print course documents will need to pay for these as a separate expense.
Placements
If you wish to undertake a placement year facilitated by Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº fees are £1,905 for the year. This covers your access to all Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº services during your year away from the university, support from your academic supervisor and professional staff, as well as all the preparation support provided in advance. Students will need to pay for costs such as transportation for their placement.
Trips
Âé¶¹Ó°ÔºGlobal trips are offered either as part of some modules or as an extra-curricular activity. These trips are subsidised by the university and the cost and the subsidy varies by location.
