Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº's new digital assistant for round-the-clock IT support is now live

Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº’s Digital and Technology Directorate has launched Ask Tech, a chatbot integrated directly into Microsoft Teams. 

Ask Tech complements Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº’s current services by providing students and staff with a quick, additional source of information about their IT queries.  

The system operates around the clock, which is particularly useful for getting help outside standard office hours.

For more complex issues, you can continue to access dedicated support through the service desk as usual via our , email servicedesk@dmu.ac.uk or for urgent queries please call 0116 250 6050 and a member of the team will assist.

The new chatbot forms part of the university’s Digital Transformation Strategy, which aims to deliver modern, digitally inclusive approaches.  

Ask Tech should appear in your list of apps on the sidebar of Microsoft Teams. If it doesn't, you can add it in just a few clicks. Follow the  for details. 

To start using Ask Tech for the first time, just type the word ‘Hi’. There's more information in the Busy Person's guide about interacting with the chatbot.
